Chopper Fest went great!

I have been super busy this week, after the Chopper Fest on Sunday, that I haven't had a chance to update with pictures from the show.
The trophies were a big hit, and the people that won them were stoked.
I was honored to be the judge for Koolest Paint category.

David Mann Chopper Fest

Tory has been organizing the David Mann Chopper fest for 7 years now. I have helped out with doing some of the trophies the past few years. But this year I was asked to do all 14 of them. It's a pretty big job, but I'm sure these trophies are gonna be awesome and well worth the effort. So if you are looking for something to do, this Sunday is the 7th annual David Mann show. Come enter your bike into the show, and you might be lucky to win one of these fine hand painted trophies.

Primo moves into Road Dog Customs

Our good friend, Rene from Primos Helmet Design, has moved into our shop here at Road Dogs. He was always hanging around here anyway, so maybe now he can get some actual work done. http://primoshelmetdesign.blogspot.comBeen working hard these last couple of weeks. Trying to get the 79 Shovel ready for David Mann show. Laying out the tape right now. I'm really excited about this bike, can't wait to see it done!

Latest Build

This 79 Shovel came to us as a rolling chassis, and has sat, waiting patiently in our shop for about a year. We have been working on it since June, and it has been coming together quite smoothly. We just got all of the sheet metal prepared for paint. Everything else is off to chrome and powder coat. Trying to get it ready for the David Mann Chopper Fest!

Farewell Hideo

Well its been a little while since I last updated. There has just been so much stuff going on in and out of the shop.... Hideo moved back to Japan after being in California for 5 years and workin here at Road Dogs for 2 years. I met Hideo through Trevelen of Super Co. Trev told me that he knew this young Japanese guy who wanted to learn how to paint and had a little pinstriping and welding experience. Since then he has far exceeded in almost every department of building a motorcycle and has built a reputation as a great painter and pinstriper under the name Kamikaze. Further more, he has become apart of our family and a great friend. We wish him the best of luck on his new endeavor! For those who knew him, keep up the support.

Evilspirit Engineering

I've been doing a lot of lettering lately. Here's some gold leaf I did for Micheal Barragan of Evilspirit Engineering, on his gas tank for his Panhead.

Gilby's Finished!

I finished up the paint, on Gilby Clarke's gas tank and fender, last week.
Another satisfied customer! I really love the way that this one turned out.
See for your self.

Gilby gets some Fine Paint & Pinstripe

Been working on a cool paint job for a really cool customer, Gilby Clarke, the guitar player from Guns & Roses. I was approached by him to paint his Panhead. He chose to do a really classy color scheme, a fine copper pearl with some red variegated leaf and some simple scroll pinstripe. Check out the sketches I've done so far, and stay tuned for the finished product.

Update on Alex's Truck

As some of you may know, I have been working on this beast off and on for a year now. Its been quite the job! I've been putting my best effort into making this a unique and eye popping piece of art, not just another truck paint job. So now we're in the process of sanding it down again to do the final touches, with some silver leaf and pinstripe. Stay tuned!
