Ted's 53 Chevy
So a lot has happened since I last posted. I have had a few small quick jobs come thru. But now its time for some serious painting. I have this 1953 Chevy chop top to get busy on next! This belongs to an old friend of mine/customer. Before I was painting, I used to hustle washing cars and doing mobile detailing as a summer job until I got out of high school. I would always go to where my father or brothers were working, where they built sets for big feature movies, and wash cars all day at the studios in Hollywood and Burbank. Ted is an amazing carpenter with a wild imagination and was one of my regulars. He has always had the coolest cars too. One of my favorites that he had was a '69 Pontiac Bonneville, that I would detail all the time.
Anyway, Ted approached me at the beginning of the year to paint his new project car, his 1953 Chevy coupe chop top. I was stoked and said hell yes! He delivered the car in February to the shop, My friend Jack and his crew at Balistek have done an excellent job with the bodywork. I have finally caught up with all my small jobs and now the rest of the car is about to get some color. I'm goin to be shooting this with House of Kolor Tangelo pearl. The roof will be white base with Abalone pearl on top. With a little pinstripe to finish it off too.

Flyin Gear
Just finished another one for Yaniv at Power Plant.
He had this great idea of putting a gear with wings on the tank.
It came out sweet!
Original sketch I did.

Fletcher's tattoo shop
I was invited by Fletcher from Pennywise, to his grand opening party for his new shop 3rd st Tattoo, in Hermosa Beach, on staurday. It was crazy. Loads of people showed up, bikes, cars, punks, bikers, booze food and bands. I had a good time until it got shut down by the Fire Marshall. Fletcher is a super cool dude and he knows how to throw a good party... Its funny cause I grew up listening to Pennywise when I was in elementary school because my older brother was into them. Never thought I would be hangin with Fletcher. Wish him the best of luck with his shop.

M.S. BISBEE
I found this really cool tool box at the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena today! I have always wanted one just like it to use as my pinstripe box. Its in great condition and has original paint on it. I wonder who M.S. BISBEE was? Love finding stuff like this!

Texas Bound
This little beauty is going back to Texas today! I painted this for Luke Huch a talented musician/singer.
This paint scheme was pretty much all his ideas. I have to say he has good taste. I really like the way this turned out. Its classic, simple and clean. Thank you luke and thank you Cory from Maindrive Cycles for spreading the word!
Cheers!

Born Free Weekend
Matt asked me to drive the Dice Van to the show cause Dean is out of town. I was more than happy to do so. We arrived friday afternoon and camped at the show. I had a blast!!! As most of you who went know, there was just too much good stuff to see. Absolutely the best show in So Cal. Maybe even the country. Masses of people, old friends and people from out of state and out of the country came. It was really really a good time. And there was no shortage of beer too. I was not planning on setting up a booth at all but I figured since I was drivin the Van and gonna be there all weekend I might as well bring a set of fresh paint jobs to show. It was a great show for me to kinda dip back into the scene, show some of my latest work and pass out my new business cards.
Thanks again Matt and Justina.
